During one year the phenology of the Colombian mahogany (Cariniana pyriformis Miers), a native forest species, was registered in a rural area of the municipality of El Carmen de Chucuri, department of Santander, northeastern Colombia. Flowering showed a peak at the end of the rainy season (October and November). Subsequently, trees defoliated more intensely during the driest months (December to February). The mature fruit phenophase was more intense at the beginning of the next rainy season (April to June). Results showed the tendency that evaluated C. pyiriformis phenophases register annual cycles and are related to rainfall in this region.Downloads
